Brigidine School is an Independent Catholic Day School, licensed by the Department for Education for up to 200 pupils from Pre-Nursery to the Sixth Form. We offer continuous education for girls from the age of 2 years to 18 years old and boys from 2 to 13 years old.

We positively welcome applications from families of all faiths and abilities. Brigidine supports children with special educational requirements and disabilities in a caring nurturing environment by personalising the individual learning needs of all pupils attending the school.  Entry is dependent on the school's ability to meet the needs of the child. Pupils can start at any stage throughout the academic year.

Initial enquiries should be made to the Registrar who will be happy to arrange visits to the school. Alternatively, throughout the year the school has Open Mornings where no appointment is necessary.

The admissions process at Brigidine School is outlined below:

  • Request a prospectus either online or by contacting the Registrar
  • Attend one of our Open Mornings and/or arrange an individual visit to the school
  • Complete the Registration Form and return with registration fee of £25
  • Invitation to a Taster Morning
  • Brigidine School will request a report from the Head of your child’s current school
  • The offer letter will be sent out
  • Payment of Deposit Fee is made to accept the place offered

Admission into the Junior School is subject to the availability of a place and receipt of a written report from their current school. Often children attend for a ‘Taster’ Morning.

There are no formal entrance examinations for Admission into the Senior School at Year 7. However, there are short assessment papers in Maths and English to be completed at the Senior Induction Day held each January prior to September entry. A written report is requested from their current school. Attendees will also have an informal interview with senior members of staff.

Girls attending the Junior School have automatic entry to the Senior School at Year 7, subject to their meeting the required standard of performance in Years 5 & 6 and attendance of the Senior Induction Day.

Admission to the Sixth Form depends on the GCSE results taken in subjects to be studied at A level, a reference from the previous school and an interview.

A few Academic Scholarships are available for the Sixth Form depending upon expected GCSE results.

The Deposit Fee of £500 is payable when parents return the Acceptance Form to the School, £450 of which is refunded (less any outstanding charges) as per the school’s Terms and Conditions.

Admission to the school is subject to the standard Terms and Conditions current at the time and to any reasonable amendments made to them from time to time.
