About Us

Brigidine School is an independent day school for girls aged 2 to 18 and boys up to age 11 in Windsor, Berkshire (in the M4 corridor). The beautiful grounds are located at the edge of Windsor Great Park. Founded in 1948 as a Catholic school by sisters of the Order of St Brigid, Brigidine School welcomes all faiths and abilities. The School combines the very best in academic standards, music, sport and the arts.

Brigidine School is a happy, caring and inspirational environment in which children enjoy and develop a lifelong love of learning and want to achieve their full potential.  Our dedicated staff and framework of pastoral care ensure that students have an appropriately challenging curriculum matched to their ability.  Every student is a member of a House and the older students work with the younger ones in a variety of House competitions.

If the evidence of a good school is in its examination results, then Brigidine School scores highly once again in 2016, with 100% of A level grades A* - E of which 70% are A* - C (well above the national average) with all leavers going onto the full time education courses of their choice.

For GCSE results, again we achieved a 100% pass rate with 90% of students gaining 5 or more GCSE grades at A* - C, including English and Mathematics (75% of all grades were either A* or A)

Students at Brigidine School enjoy large grounds, excellent facilities and a range of sporting, musical, drama and artistic opportunities.  We offer a rich and exciting programme of co-curricular activities including rowing and equestrian lessons enjoyed in the most beautiful learning environments, adjacent to Windsor Great Park.  There is supervision before and after school (07.30 to 18.30), an onsite Chef and in-house Uniform Shop.

The most recent ISI Inspection Report on the education at the school (October 2010), states:

Strong and effective teaching enables pupils of all abilities to make good progress.  Throughout the school pupils’ attitudes to their learning are excellent. The personal development of pupils is outstanding, resulting in confident, articulate and well-rounded young people.
